It was supposed to be a quick weekday ride. What should have been done in a relaxed 1-hour loop took up most of the morning, with us finishing around 11:30 A.M.
I was at the meeting place, at the police outpost along Daang Hari, at 7 A.M. Jun arrived at around 8 A.M., followed shortly by Doc Riz. I was giddy, in anticipation of the ride ahead, when Jun told me we have to wait for Togs as he had some stuff he needed to return back… so we wait.
When Togs arrived we exchanged pleasantries, a few jokes, a quick summary of what modifications needed to be done on the Backout Boys‘ jersey, etc., then we were on our way, back inside the
Malipay trails — one of our favorites as it offers technical trails, straight and winding single tracks, tight downhill portions with sudden ascents — all this within 30 minutes from my home.
As there were only 3 of us we were able to do some sessioning and shoot some videos we would never have been able to do with a huge group.
It was a satisfying day for riding. I clocked 49.33km — but only because after the trail sessions I had to go to the auto shops to look for a replacement hydrovac for my car, and I opted to pedal it all the way.
As for the videos it’s posted below. I hope you enjoy it.
