I weighed myself this morning. 59kg. Before I started biking I was at 75kg. Being a proud mofo I announced it to my family’s mailing list. My closest cousin, who is now in California, jokingly replied he just needed another 20 lbs. then he’ll be moved up to the heavyweight division. Since he was online we started talking via IM.

The discussion went on to our wives, with me telling him to start mountain biking with his wife as I have been trying to convince my wife to start riding so she can ride with me. I also want her to experience the trails we go to, how fun these trails are, etc. A part of the discussion went like this:

ME: bakit di ka mag mountain bike din? kayo ni anna
(Why don’t you start mountain biking with Anna?)

MARK: takot si anna sa araw parang si mameh
(She’s scared of the sun, just like Mommy.)

MARK: mala bampira
(… like vampires.)

ME: NGEK! si jam din ganyan, kaya niya ayaw magbike kasi takot mangitim!
(Hah! My wife’s just the same. She doesn’t want to get dark.)

MARK: yun
(Yeah)

MARK: lalabas ang totoong kulay nila
(Their true color will surface…)

MARK: kayumanggi
(Brown)
