One of the Jabbawockeez helping out in the packing of the supplies?

Last December 2010, as with the annual tradition of the south (of the Metro) riders, we organized a gift-giving ride for the Malipay residents. Included in my family’s contribution are crayons, pencils, and notebooks. My kids had fun helping us choose which ones to buy and they were tasked to pack it all and get it ready for distribution.

By suggestion of the head of the Malipay school, we decided to hold on to the school supplies until just before the start of the coming school year. This is to preserve the supplies. Since we had quite a lot of clothes and food to be given away I didn’t see a problem with this.

Now it’s only 2 weeks before the start of school (I was informed the first day of classes is on June 6, 2011). I’m planning on distributing the supplies this Saturday, May 28, 2011 — date not definite . I still need to talk to the school head if this is a good date for the distribution and if I will need to do additional set-up work.

EDIT: As I was writing this the school head responded to my text suggesting June 7 as the distribution date *scratching head*, now I’m waiting for confirmation if it was a typo or not.

EDIT 2: I guess we’ll be doing the distribution on June 7, 2011. As explained to me by the school head, most parents in Malipay enroll their kids on the first day of classes (June 6) so the 7th is the best day as the recipients will be the school students.

Naturally, everyone is invited.

I love the way Chris Akrigg of Mongoose rides. I love watching his videos. Makes me wanna get out and ride. Thanks to Chucky, the Team Prima captain, I can do that using the loaner bike he lent me.

Anyway, when I’m watching videos like this I just try not to think of the stuff I can’t do, haha! I just let myself get stoked.

The Strike Ride for A Cause is an event spearheaded by the Cavite mayor himself to promote a sporty and healthy lifestyle. Being a biker himself, Mayor Strike saw it as a good opportunity to support the biking community in and around the area. Aside from it being a late birthday celebration (his birthday is March 2), there will also be a fun run in the same location prior to the bike race.
