The Strike Ride for A Cause is an event spearheaded by the Cavite mayor himself to promote a sporty and healthy lifestyle. Being a biker himself, Mayor Strike saw it as a good opportunity to support the biking community in and around the area. Aside from it being a late birthday celebration (his birthday is March 2), there will also be a fun run in the same location prior to the bike race.Possibly Related Posts:

“Is Riding a Bike Just Riding a Bike?” That’s the title of my first article published in the 2nd issue of Mountain Bike Philippines magazine.
It’s a short article on my journey from being a naive non-biker (my initial impressions, how I got started) to a mountain biking addict.
Here’s an excerpt from the article:

Whole body crouched. Head buried between arms. Hands gripping the back of the head. Face contorted in a pain-like expression. Eyes tightly closed. Mouth wide open as if shouting. The sound of groaning in the air, almost a whisper… almost not. Exactly how I was feeling.
The rainy season is still upon us — the season when I wasn’t able to get to ride as much as I wanted to.
But the days between the rains and storms are generally getting farther and farther in between. Giving the mud more time to dry and settle. Giving us riders more opportunities to ride.

Another impromptu decision was made as we approached the corner that leads to the top part of the Maguyam trail.
“Diyan sa kanto na yan papuntang Maguyam trail (That’s the corner that leads to the Maguyam trail),” Doc told me as we pedaled towards it.
Then a light bulb flashed on.
“Saan ang bagsak natin niyan? (Where does the trail end?)” I asked.
“Dun sa baba, sa intersection (Down below, at the previous intersection),” he answered.
I grinned. “Let’s do that trail!”

Another Crazy Akrigg Video!
I love the way Chris Akrigg of Mongoose rides. I love watching his videos. Makes me wanna get out and ride. Thanks to Chucky, the Team Prima captain, I can do that using the loaner bike he lent me.
Anyway, when I’m watching videos like this I just try not to think of the stuff I can’t do, haha! I just let myself get stoked.
Fine, I’ll shut up now and let you watch the video:
